Biological diversity in an aquarium not only makes a tank more
beautiful and natural looking but can be a significant component of the
filtration system.  It also provides live foods for fish allowing them to
hunt and forage through out the day as they do in the ocean.
 Find out
how!

We offer the critters that you need!  These are the ones that thrive and
breed.  These are the things you want scavenging waste because they are
food themselves -- like Copepods, Amphipods, Mysid shrimp, and worms.
Maintaining diversity can be difficult so it's important to add the right
things.  Large detritivores can  hinder overall diversity by out competing
everything else for the available food, waste or algae.  We offer the
specific critters that work well together and do not dominate the
ecosystem.  Everything is small enough to breed to large proportions but
not interfere with the others.  Things like tunicates and feather dusters
filter the water and don't compete with the savagers and the right mix of
macros will remove nutrients in yet another way without competing.
Certain snails can provide eggs and planktonic food for the system.

Setting up a refugium is the best way to maintain the diversity of your
ecosystem.  And methods vary from something as simple as converting a
wet-dry filter to more elaborate compartmental refugium containers.
The goal is to have an area outside the main tank which will harbor the
critters that can not thrive in the main tank, and be a refuge for them.

Refugium tips here!

You can still maintain some diversity without a refugium with the proper
live rock and substrate.  The arrangement is very important and should
provide safe haven areas where fish can not reach.
